Shopify SEO, done by the people who build the store.

Most SEO agencies hand you an audit and a to-do list for your developer. We're Shopify developers, so we find what's holding your store back and fix it in the theme ourselves. Measured in organic sales, billed by the hour.

The real bottleneck

The audit isn't the hard part. Fixing it is.

Any SEO tool can list a store's problems in an afternoon. Fixing them means editing a Shopify theme: rewriting the Liquid that creates duplicate links, cleaning up what old apps left behind, restructuring collections without breaking a single URL.

That's where SEO usually stalls, waiting on a developer. We are the developer, so your fix list gets shorter every week instead of longer.

Where Shopify stores leak rankings

Four leaks. Every store has some.

Shopify handles the sitemap, robots.txt and canonical tags. These are what it leaves to you.

Duplicate URLs

One product, five addresses

Variants, filters and collection links give one product several URLs, so Google splits its attention. We fix the theme's links and indexing so one strong page ranks.

Thin collections

A heading and a grid

Collections are the pages that rank for searches like "linen shirts", yet most have nothing to read. We add copy shoppers actually use, FAQs and links between related ranges.

Vague products

Titles nobody searches

"The Classic" matches no search. We rewrite titles and descriptions around what buyers type, and add structured data so price, stock and reviews show in Google.

Slow pages

Every app adds weight

Each app loads its own scripts, and some stay after they're uninstalled. We strip what's unused, build simple features into the theme, and get mobile pages fast.

Leaks, fixed

Same shirt. Two search results.

Shopify writes your Google listing from whatever is in the admin. Illustrative example.

How it runs

Audit. Fix. Write. Track.

About 10 weeks for the first round, then month to month.

  1. Weeks 1–2

    Audit

We crawl the store, dig into Search Console and map every search worth winning to the one page that should rank for it.

↳ A keyword map and fix list
  2. Weeks 2–6

    Fix

Duplicate URLs, titles, structured data, internal links and speed, fixed in your theme's code rather than patched with another app.

↳ A store Google reads properly
  3. Weeks 4–10

    Write

Collection copy and buying guides for the searches on the map, in your brand's voice. Written for shoppers first, which is what Google rewards too.

↳ Pages that deserve to rank
  4. Every month

    Track

Rankings, clicks and organic sales from Search Console and Shopify, plus the next fixes, ranked by what they're likely to earn.

    ↳ A one-page monthly report
How you pay

SEO without the retainer.

Shopify SEO retainers in Australia commonly start around A$3,000 a month, and some come with a six-month minimum. That suits big catalogues with big budgets. For brands growing towards their first million, it's often more than the channel can pay back yet.

Not sure yet? Start with one collection. We pick the one with the most to gain, fix it end to end, and you watch the result in Search Console before deciding on more.

SEO and AI search

Ranked on Google. Named by AI.

Google and ChatGPT read your store the same way: clear product data, straight answers, pages that load. So every SEO fix does double duty for AI search optimisation, and we track both.

Questions

Good questions. Straight answers.

Is Shopify good for SEO?

Yes, with gaps. Shopify builds in a sitemap, robots.txt, canonical tags and fast, secure hosting.

It doesn't stop variants, filters and apps creating duplicate URLs, it ships collection pages with nothing to read, and it locks product and collection URLs to /products/ and /collections/. Those gaps are where most Shopify SEO work goes.

What does Shopify SEO cost?

We charge A$50 an hour on Accelerate, for the hours you use. There's no monthly retainer and no minimum term. We estimate the hours for the audit and first round of fixes after a free strategy call, so you know the cost before we start.

For comparison, Shopify SEO retainers in Australia commonly start around A$3,000 a month.

Is SEO worth it for a small or new Shopify store?

Sometimes not yet, and we'll tell you if so. With a handful of products and few reviews, ads usually bring sales sooner.

What's always worth it is getting the foundations right from day one: clean URLs, proper titles and structured data. Every Launch store includes those, so SEO is ready when you are.

How long does Shopify SEO take to work?

Technical fixes can be picked up within weeks as Google re-crawls the store. Ranking for competitive category searches usually takes several months of steady work. That's why we report every month on what's moved, in rankings, clicks and organic sales, rather than promising a date.

Who actually does the work?

The people at PAGEBOLT who design and build Shopify stores. You talk directly to whoever is changing your theme, with no account manager in between and no fix list handed back for your developer to find time for.

Can you fix SEO problems caused by apps?

Yes. Apps often leave scripts behind after they're uninstalled, create extra URLs, or load code on every page. We remove what's unused, and where an app does something simple, like a size chart or a badge, we can build it into the theme instead.

Will we lose rankings if we move to Shopify?

Not if the move is planned properly. Every old URL needs a redirect to its new home, and titles, content and structured data need to come across too. We handle that as part of a Shopify migration.

Can you guarantee first-page rankings?

No, and be wary of anyone who does. Nobody controls Google's results. What we can do is fix what's holding your store back, build the pages that deserve to rank, and show you the trend every month.

What do you rank for right now?

Request a free strategy call. Bring your store and two competitors. We'll show you what you rank for, what they rank for that you don't, and what to fix first.
