Agentic commerce. When AI does the shopping.

AI agents in ChatGPT, Copilot and Google are starting to buy on behalf of shoppers. We make sure they can read your store, trust what they find, and finish the checkout.

What's changed

Your next customer might be software.

Instead of opening ten tabs, a shopper hands the job to an assistant: "find it, check it fits, get it here by Friday." According to Shopify, orders from AI-powered searches grew nearly 13 times year over year in early 2026.

The catch: an agent won't guess. Vague sizes, delivery times in an image or a pop-up over the checkout, and it moves on to a store that's easier to buy from.

Where it stands in Australia

What's live. What isn't yet.

Most agentic commerce advice is written for US stores. Here's Australia.

Only sell in Australia? Get ready now anyway. The same fixes help human shoppers today, and you're switched on the day the AI channels open here.
What an agent needs

Four things agents check.

An agent buying for someone else can't afford to be wrong.

Product data it can match

Titles that say what the product is, the right Shopify product category, and sizes, materials and colours in proper fields, not buried in a paragraph. "Ocean" means nothing to an agent asked for navy.

Stock and price it can trust

Every variant with its own stock, price and image, kept accurate. If an agent promises a medium and the medium sold out last week, the shopper blames the agent, and the agent stops picking you.

Rules it can read

Delivery times and costs by state, returns and exchanges, and your terms and privacy policy, written as text. Shopify won't share your store with AI channels without those policies in place.

A checkout it can finish

No pop-ups covering the cart, no fees that appear at the last step, no apps that break the checkout flow. Shop Pay and accurate shipping rates let an agent get from cart to order cleanly.

What we do

Send agents shopping. Fix where they stall.

Watching a real agent try to buy shows what's costing you the sale.

  1. First

    Agent test

We check your eligibility channel by channel, run Shopify's readiness scanner, then give real AI agents the tasks your customers would and watch them try to buy.

↳ Where agents finish, and where they stall
  2. Next

    Fix the catalogue

Titles, product categories, metafields for size, material and fit, clean variants, barcodes and images. Done in your Shopify admin, so your filters and Google Shopping feed improve too.

↳ Product data agents can match
  3. Then

    Fix rules and checkout

Shipping and returns written plainly, policies completed, checkout friction removed, and each AI channel in Shopify switched on or off on purpose.

↳ A checkout agents can finish
  4. Every month

    Measure

AI and agent traffic and orders split into their own channel in your reports, and the agent tests re-run, so you can see what it's actually worth.

    ↳ A monthly agent report
What the agent test shows

Every place an agent gives up.

Real tasks, run on your store, with the reason each one stalled.

Questions

Good questions. Straight answers.

What is agentic commerce?

Agentic commerce is when an AI agent shops on someone's behalf. Instead of browsing your site, the shopper tells an assistant like ChatGPT, Copilot or Gemini what they want, and the agent searches, compares, fills the cart and, more and more often, completes the purchase.

Your store still makes the sale, but the first visitor to read it is software.

Is my Shopify store already part of it?

Possibly. Shopify switches on Agentic Storefronts by default for eligible stores and shares their products with AI channels through Shopify Catalog. Right now, eligible means selling to customers in the United States, among other requirements.

If you only sell within Australia, you're not in those AI channels yet. But AI browsers and agent modes that click through your site like a person can already reach you.

Can Australian Shopify stores sell through ChatGPT?

Yes, if you sell to customers in the United States. Shopify says a store can be based outside the US for the ChatGPT channel. ChatGPT recommends your products and the shopper completes the purchase on your own store checkout, opened inside ChatGPT.

For Australian shoppers buying from Australian stores, the AI checkouts are still rolling out. Google has named Australia its first Asia Pacific market for agentic checkout, starting with large retailers.

Should Australian stores bother with agentic commerce yet?

Yes, if you start with the work that pays off either way. If you only sell in Australia, the big in-chat checkouts haven't reached you yet, but the work that gets a store ready is the same work that makes it better for people: clearer product data, plainer answers on delivery and returns, and a smoother checkout.

Do it now and you get the human benefits straight away, agents that already browse your site can finish the job, and you're switched on the day the AI channels open to Australian shoppers. If you already ship to the US, ChatGPT and Copilot can sell your products today.

Does selling through AI agents cost extra?

Shopify says there are no extra fees for selling through ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot on its Agentic Storefronts, only your standard payment processing fees. Our work to get your store ready runs on Accelerate at A$50 an hour.

How is this different from AI search optimisation?

AI search optimisation is about getting your brand named when someone asks an assistant what to buy. Agentic commerce is about what happens next: the agent reading your catalogue, confirming size, stock, price and delivery, and finishing the checkout.

They share the same foundation, complete and accurate product data, so we usually do them together.

Can I control which AI channels sell my products?

Yes. In Shopify admin you choose which AI channels receive your products and, for some channels, whether shoppers can check out inside the chat. You can also stop sharing through Shopify Catalog altogether, though Shopify says it can take up to 7 days for your product data to stop being shared.

We help you decide channel by channel, rather than leaving everything on by default.

Do I need Shopify Plus?

No. Agentic Storefronts work for eligible stores on Shopify's paid plans, not just Plus. Most of the work is in your product data, policies and checkout, which matter just as much for a growing brand as for an enterprise one.

How is PAGEBOLT different from other agentic commerce agencies?

Most agentic commerce offers are priced on a call, aimed at Shopify Plus and enterprise brands, written for US stores, measured with a checklist or readiness score, and often lead to a rebuild or a new platform.

We charge A$50 an hour with the hours quoted before we start, work with brands from first sale to $1M and beyond on any paid Shopify plan, give you a straight answer on what's live for Australian stores, measure readiness by sending real agents shopping on your store before and after, and fix the store you already have, in your own Shopify admin.

What does agentic commerce work cost?

It runs on Accelerate at A$50 an hour. We scope the agent test and first round of fixes after a free strategy call, so you know the hours before we start. If your store is new, Launch builds agent-ready product data in from day one.
